AppleSox Open 2012 Season in Bellingham PDF Print E-mail

The Wenatchee AppleSox will begin their q uest for a fifth straight division title and sixth overall league championship tomorrow when they travel to Bellingham, Wash. for a four game s eries with the Bellingham Bells. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with Saturday’s start time set for 6:05 pm.

Getting the nod on the mound for the AppleSox is Trevor Lubking, a freshman out of Pacific Lutheran. In 67.2 innings of work in his inaugural campaign, Lubking ranked third nationally in Division III in strikeouts with 77. The southpaw saw action in 14 games in 2012 for the Lutes, starting ten.

Wenatchee and Bellingham squared off six times in 2011, with the AppleSox taking four of those games. The Sox went 2-1 in Bellingham last season.

The AppleSox are coming off a West Coast League-best 39-15 season in 2011 that saw the club lead the league in virtually every major hitting category.

Following the road tilt, the Sox will return home for back-to-back three game home stands against the Bend Elks and the defending league champion Corvallis Knights. Game tickets can be purchased online at www.applesox.com or in advance at the Town Toyota Center box office in Wenatchee. Tickets are also available for purchase on the day of the game at the Paul Thomas, Sr. Stadium ticket booth, which opens an hour before each game
