The annual summer clinics are for boys and girls ages 6 and older who want to improve their baseball and softball skills. Forms can be downloaded  by clicking here. The AppleSox offer three separate sessions with emphasis on; pitching, hitting and a general skills session. Each session runs for three days from 9:00 AM - Noon.

AppleSox Announce 2012 Season Schedule

FansThe AppleSox have finalized the schedule for the 2012 season, which will begin in Bellingham on June 1st and feature a franchise record 60 games.

The first home game will be Tuesday, June 5th as part of the opening six-game homestand against the Bend Elks and Corvallis Knights.

AppleSox Broadcaster Moves On To Boise State

Chris_King-A-Sox_WebsiteThe AppleSox organization bids a fond farewell to one of its own, Chris King, who is moving to Idaho to take a position with Boise State University, calling women’s basketball games and filling in during some men’s games as well.

King started with the AppleSox as the team’s radio announcer in 2008, while he was still attending Washington State University. After graduating from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at WSU in 2009 he came back to Wenatchee and began working for the AppleSox full time.

Wenatchee Baseball History Program a Hit

Museum_Talk_PostNearly 60 people gathered to hear about Wenatchee's baseball history as part of the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center's Afternoon Program Series.

Chris King with the AppleSox recounted the Wenatchee area’s more than 100-year old love of the game by talking about the days of town ball, when nearly every company, club and organization had its very own team.

West Coast League Top Prospect Lists Released

2011_Top_Prospect_ListSix AppleSox players were named to the post-season top prospect lists by Perfect Game CrossChecker and Baseball America. Perfect Game CrossChecker listed the West Coast League’s top 35 prospects that featured six Wenatchee players, while two AppleSox players made the Baseball America list ranking the WCL’s top 10 prospects.

Milone Hits Home Run in MLB Debut

Tom_MiloneFormer AppleSox pitcher Tom Milone made his MLB debut Saturday, getting the no-decision after allowing four runs in 4 1/3 innings. The highlight of the night for Milone did not come on the mound, but up at the plate.

On the very first pitch he saw as a major leaguer, Milone blasted a three-run homer. Only 26 players in MLB history have a hit a home run on the very first pitch they saw, and Milone became the first starting pitcher in history to accomplish the feat. AppleSox Ace Named WCL Pitcher of the Year

WCL_Pitcher_of_the_YearThe record setting summer for Owen Jones was capped off by being named the West Coast League’s Pitcher of the Year. Jones, who’ll be a senior at the University of Portland, set a league record with 7 wins, going 7-1 with a 2.00 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 77 innings pitched.

In addition to the WCL Pitcher of the Year honor, the Edmonds native was already named a summer collegiate baseball First Team All-American by Perfect Game CrossChecker. Only four pitchers in the country were named to the All-American First Team.
