|AppleSox Going Green for Weekend Series|
The AppleSox are back at home this weekend for a two-game non-league series with the Portland Ports. It will be the first non-league games of the season for the AppleSox, who will take a break from WCL play five times this summer. The Ports are a member of the WCL-Portland and feature players from colleges around the northwest.
The AppleSox enter the non-league series on a hot streak. The team is 16-2 on the year and was just ranked the #5 summer collegiate team in the country in the first Perfect Game USA poll.
Friday’s game will be a special evening at the ballpark for “Go Green” night sponsored by Apple Valley Honda. The AppleSox will be wearing special one-time only green jerseys that will be auctioned off that night. Proceeds from the auction will go to benefit the Children’s Charity Classic for the Royal Family Camp. Click here to check out the video of AppleSox pitchers David Bigelow and Alex Phillips modeling the special jerseys. Saturday will be another great night at Paul Thomas Sr. Field, the game is being sponsored by Wenatchee Valley Medical Center.
First pitch for both games is scheduled for 7:05 pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Town Toyota Center Box Office or online by clicking here. They can also be purchased the day of the game at the ballpark ticket booth, which opens an hour before each game.
