AppleSox Fall In Game 1 – Team Back Home Tonight

A-Sox_vs._W2_PlayoffsThough the AppleSox drew first blood in Walla Walla Friday night they struggled through the next few innings, giving up nine runs in all and eventually the win to the Walla Walla Sweets in the first game of the WCL divisional playoffs.

AppleSox Open WCL Playoffs Friday Night

2011_PlayoffsThe Wenatchee AppleSox will begin their quest for a third straight West Coast League Championship Friday night, opening a three-game series in the Divisional Round with the Walla Walla Sweets.

The AppleSox have home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs, putting game one of the series at Borleske Stadium in Walla Walla on Friday night. The series will then move to Wenatchee for game two on Saturday and, if necessary, game three will also be played in Wenatchee on Sunday. Tickets to Saturday’s home game are available now by clicking here or can be purchased at the stadium when the ticket box opens an hour before game time.

AppleSox Face Sweets in Final Regular Season Series

Opener_2010_2The AppleSox are off to Walla Walla to take on the Sweets in the final regular season series of 2011. The matchup could very likely be a preview of WCL Divisional Playoffs. Coming into the series, the Sweets just need one win or a Bellingham Bells loss to clinch the final playoff spot in the East Division and a first round matchup with the AppleSox.

First pitch for all three games is set for 7:05 pm at Borleske Stadium. Listen live to all the action on 560 KPQ or online at www.kpq.com. Pregame coverage begins at 6:45 pm.

AppleSox Clinch Division, Home Playoff Game

Division_ChampsThe AppleSox have officially clinched the team’s fourth straight East Division Title. That means the AppleSox will have home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Tickets are available now for the AppleSox home playoff game on Saturday, August 13th and can be right now by clicking here. They can also be purchased at the souvenir stand at any AppleSox home game. First pitch for the home playoff game on August 13th is set for 7:05 pm. Annual Team Autograph Party This Saturday

Autograph_PartyCome meet the entire AppleSox team and get a FREE autographed team poster courtesy of Pepsi at Memorial Park this Saturday, August 6th. The team will be at the park signing autographs and giving away FREE posters from 11 AM to 1 PM.

This year the annual autograph party is part of a community barbeque/fundraiser that Pepsi is hosting for their employee Chris Hastings, who was involved in a racing accident at the Super Oval. We hope you can join the AppleSox and Coyote this Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM at Memorial Park.

AppleSox Open Final Regular Season Homestand

A-Sox_homeThe AppleSox are back at home to begin the final regular season homestand of the year. The team will face both the Kelowna Falcons (Tuesday-Thursday) and the Bellingham Bells (Friday-Sunday) to wrap up the regular season at home.

While on the road for a six-game swing, the AppleSox wrapped up first place in the West Coast League’s East Division and home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The AppleSox will open the playoffs at either Bellingham or Walla Walla on Friday, August 12th. The team will host a home playoff game on Saturday, August 13th at 7:05 pm at Paul Thomas Sr. Field. If necessary game three of the Divisional Round will take place at Paul Thomas Sr. Field on Sunday, August 14th.

AppleSox Start Series in Bellingham

ASox-Bells_RoadThe AppleSox complete head to Bellingham to complete the road trip with a three-game series against the Bells. Wenatchee comes into the series fresh off a sweep of the Kitsap BlueJackets and with a WCL best 33-9 record.

It will be the first time this year that the AppleSox will face the Bells. Bellingham is currently in second place in the East Division, but has a mere one game lead on the Walla Walla Sweets. The AppleSox have already wrapped up first place the East Division and secured a playoff spot for the fourth straight season.

East Division Earns WCL All-Star Game Victory

corvallis all star gamelogoThe East All-Stars pulled out the 4-2 victory over the West at Goss Stadium in Corvallis to win the 2011 All-Stars. The East featured ten AppleSox players and were led by the Wenatchee coaching staff.

AppleSox southpaw Alex Phillips earned the victory in front of an All-Star Game record crowd of 2,517 in Corvallis. The University of Kentucky junior pitched a scoreless second inning.

AppleSox Welcome Bend for Weekend Series

A-Sox_vs_bend_2The AppleSox are back at Paul Thomas Sr. Field to begin a three-game weekend series with the Bend Elks. The Elks are the only team that Wenatchee has lost a series to all season long. Bend swept the AppleSox last weekend at Vince Genna Stadium in Bend. Wenatchee comes into the series fresh off a sweep of the Kelowna Falcons.

The series will be a rematch of the 2010 WCL Championship Series, where the AppleSox took their second straight title in a thrilling three-game series.

Ten AppleSox Named to WCL All-Star Game

corvallis all star gamelogoWest Coast League president Ken Wilson announced the league's 2011 All-Star teams as voted on by fans, league coaches and major league scouts.

The East Division team, coached by Ed Knaggs of Wenatchee, features ten AppleSox, including ace pitcher Owen Jones of the University of Portland. Jones leads the league with five wins.
