West Coast League All-Star Game Fan Vote

For the first time WCL history, fans will get to select one member of their team to play in the All-Star Game. Below is a poll that includes the name of some of the AppleSox top performers this season. If you would like to write in a vote for a player that is not listed, email your vote to info@applesox.com.

After a two-season hiatus, the 2011 WCL All-Star Game will be held at Goss Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon on Tuesday, July 26.

AppleSox Start Longest Homestand of the Summer

HomestandThe AppleSox are back at Paul Thomas Sr. Field for the team’s longest stretch at home of the season. The nine-game homestand began in grand fashion on Sunday night. The AppleSox won a 13-inning battle over the Walla Walla Sweets 2-1 on fireworks night in front of 1,985 fans, the second largest crowd in team history.

Wenatchee will face the Walla Walla Sweets on the 4th of July to wrap up the shortened series. First pitch on Monday is a 6:05 pm. Wenatchee will then welcome the Cowlitz Black Bears to town for a three-game series beginning Tuesday. First pitch for all three games against Cowlitz is set for 7:05 pm.

AppleSox Post-Game Fireworks Show July 3rd

Fireworks_PicThe AppleSox annual July 3rd post-game fireworks display is set for this Sunday. Bring the family out to the ballpark for a great night of baseball followed by a post-game fireworks show.

First pitch for the game is at 7:05 pm at Paul Thomas Sr. Field with the fireworks display beginning after the game. To purchase tickets online, click here. The game will be the first of a two-game series with the Walla Walla Sweets. The series will wrap up on the 4th of July with a special 6:05 pm start.

AppleSox and Knights Meet in Corvallis

A-Sox__CorvallisThe Applesox hit the road to face the always tough Corvallis Knights in a three-game series beginning Thursday. It will be the second and final series during the regular season between the two teams. Wenatchee took two-out-of-three from Corvallis in the first series, but the Knights ended the AppleSox WCL record 14-game winning streak.

UC Irvine freshman Phillip Ferragamo will get his first league start of the season on Thursday. Cole Baylis will follow him on Friday and Owen Jones will wrap up the series on Saturday. First pitch for all three games in Corvallis is set for 6:40 pm.

Gems Make First Trip to Wenatchee

K_Falls-WenatcheeThe expansion Klamath Falls Gems are making their inaugural trip to Wenatchee on Monday to open a three-game series with the AppleSox. The two teams have already met this season, with the AppleSox sweeping the first series played in Klamath Falls.

Wenatchee enters the series with a WCL best 16-2 record, after sweeping a two-game non-league series over the Portland Ports over the weekend. The Gems come into Wenatchee with an 8-9 record, just 3.5 games out of first place in the West Division.

AppleSox Going Green for Weekend Series

Go_GreenThe AppleSox are back at home this weekend for a two-game non-league series with the Portland Ports. It will be the first non-league games of the season for the AppleSox, who will take a break from WCL play five times this summer. The Ports are a member of the WCL-Portland and feature players from colleges around the northwest.

The AppleSox enter the non-league series on a hot streak. The team is 16-2 on the year and was just ranked the #5 summer collegiate team in the country in the first Perfect Game USA poll.

AppleSox Return Home Against Corvallis

A-Sox_vsAfter a nine-game road trip the AppleSox finally return home to begin a three-game series with the Corvallis Knights. The streaking AppleSox enter the series on a 14-game winning streak, the longest in team history.

Veteran hurler Owen Jones will toe the rubber on Monday night for the AppleSox, followed by Jackson Goulder on Tuesday and Mike Murray gets the nod in the series finale on Wednesday. First pitch for all three-games is set for 7:05 pm at Paul Thomas Sr. Field.

Long Road Swing Wraps up in Walla Walla

Opener_2010_2The red-hot AppleSox are off to Walla Walla to conclude their nine-game road stretch. Being on the road has not fazed the AppleSox, who broke the record for best start in team history after beginning 11-1 on the season.

Friday night the AppleSox will give Mike Murray his first start of the summer. He will be followed by Aaron Brooks on Saturday and Alex Phillips on Sunday. First pitch for Friday and Saturday is set for 7:05 pm. Game time on Sunday is at 6:05 pm.

Road Trip Continues in Cowlitz

Untitled-1The first road trip of the season continues for the AppleSox as they face the Cowlitz Black Bears in a three-game series at Story Field beginning Monday night. The AppleSox enter the series on an eight-game winning streak. Wenatchee is 8-1overall and is coming off of a sweep of the Klamath Falls Gems.

University of Kentucky lefty Alex Phillips will return to Story Field, where he pitched for two seasons for the Lower Columbia College Red Devils. Phillips will start game one of the series, followed by Owen Jones on Tuesday and Jackson Goulder to wrap up the series on Wednesday. First pitch for all three games is set for 6:35 pm.

AppleSox Make First Road Trip to Klamath Falls

KFalls_TripThe AppleSox make their first trip to Kiger Stadium for a three-game weekend series with the Klamath Falls Gems. The AppleSox enter the road trip 5-1 on the season, after sweeping the Kelowna Falcons at home.  The expansion Gems are off to a good start, coming into the series with a 3-2 record.

Jackson Goulder will get his second start on Friday night, followed by Garrett Tygerson on Saturday and Aaron Brooks will toe the rubber in the final game of the series on Sunday. The first two games begin at 7:05 pm and Sunday game will start at 6:05 pm.
