“2011 promises to be another exciting season at Paul Thomas Sr. Field,” said AppleSox general manager Jim Corcoran. “The expanded league schedule means more baseball for our fans and an added value for our season ticket holders.” The AppleSox will face every team in the WCL six times, with each team playing a three-game series at home and on the road. Each team will also play six additional league games against their natural geographic rivals, the Walla Walla Sweets and the Kelowna Falcons for the AppleSox. Four of the AppleSox non-league games will be against the Portland Ports and the Portland Toros, members of the WCL Portland, the WCL’s developmental league. The other non-league game will be against the Portland Baseball Club. The AppleSox played the PBC from 2006-2008 when they were known as the Northwest Star Academy. The West Coast League divisions will remain East and West in 2011, with Bellingham moving to the East, and the expansion Klamath Falls Gems becoming a member of the West. The four team East Division will consist of Wenatchee, Kelowna, Walla Walla, and Bellingham. The five team West Division features Corvallis, Bend, Klamath Falls, Kitsap, and Cowlitz. The playoff structure will remain the same with the best of three-game Divisional Series beginning Friday, August 12th and the WCL Championship Series starting on Tuesday, August 16th. Single game tickets start at just $6 for adults and $5 for kids. Season tickets are available now and can be purchased by contacting the AppleSox at (509) 665-6900. |
