HARBOURCATS TAKE GAME TWO, SERIES CONTINUES SUNDAY

WENATCHEE, Wash. - The Wenatchee AppleSox (24-27, 21-26) fell to the Victoria HarbourCats (27-24, 24-22), Saturday, after the teams combined for 10 of the games 14 runs in the first three innings.

The four-run first for the AppleSox was led by a pair of 2-RBI singles from Sheldon Liikala and Jordan Rathbone. Keston Hiura also singled in the first inning and has reached base safely in 34-consecutive games. 

Victoria led off the game with a run in the top half of the first on an RBI groundout for AJ Alcantara. The HarbourCats scored five runs in the third inning and were helped by four-consecutive walks from Sox starter Gage Burland (2-3), who ended up walking six in 2 1/3 innings. 

PJ Floyd also hit a 2-RBI double off of Brian Gadsby who entered to get the final outs of the third. The runs were charged to Burland. 

Victoria added a run in the sixth inning, on an RBI single that scored Kevin Collard, who tripled earlier in the inning. Griffin Andreychuk drove in the run. 

The AppleSox answered with two runs of their own in the sixth on an RBI single for Evan Douglas and a sacrifice fly RBI for Keston Hiura.

In the eighth, Andreychuk drove in another run on a single. 

The HarbourCats held the rest of the way for an 8-6 victory. Game three is Sunday at 6:05 p.m., and is the last Spaghetti Sunday of the season. Gates open at 5 p.m.
