WENATCHEE, WA - The AppleSox collected just four hits in a 9-1 loss to the Bend Elks on Wednesday Night at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.

Bend Elks starter Gil Luna struck out 12 in seven innings in his second win against the AppleSox in less than a week. Brett Gillis and Kodie Kolden collected two hits, but the Sox only mustered four hits in the loss.

The Elks scored two runs in the top of the first inning off AppleSox starter Ryan Long (1-3) before scoring four times in the fifth inning, then once in each of the game’s final three innings.

The Sox got their only run in the sixth when Kolden led off with a double. As he advanced to third on a wild pitch, a throwing error allowed him to round third and score.

Jake Saum toes the rubber in Thursday’s series finale as the Sox look to even up the season series against the Elks. First pitch on Sunny FM Foster Family Night is at 6:35. Tickets can be purchased on
