APPLESOX COMPLETE TWO-GAME SWEEP OF SEALS, 6-2 HOMESTAND

The AppleSox won 7-3, Sunday, behind a 3-for-5 debut for Shane Martinez, a 2-for-4 night for Ryan Kreidler, and a quality start for Grady Miller. Wenatchee went 6-2 on its homestand.

WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee AppleSox defeated the San Francisco Seals, 7-3 behind a six-run sixth inning, Sunday night at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium. 

Shane Martinez went 3-for-5 in his AppleSox debut, batting in the leadoff spot for Wenatchee. He drove in two runs on a single in the sixth inning, which yielded six runs for the AppleSox. 

Wenatchee brought 11 batters to the plate in the inning, which included three hits, a sacrifice fly, four walks, and a batter hit by pitch. Other RBIs in the inning were credited to Ryan Murkle, Otis Statum, Haydan Hastings, and Jeremy Ydens. 

The runs undid a respectable five-inning start for Blaze Hastings, who left the game with a 3-1 lead, but the bases loaded. Trey Jeans allowed two runs of his own without recording an out in the inning. Miguel Villafane came on to earn the final outs of the frame. 

The AppleSox got a quality start on the other side from Grady Miller. He threw six innings of three-run baseball, giving up scores in the second on an RBI single for Paul Kunst, and a 2-RBI double in the sixth for Marcus Williams. 

Wenatchee scored its first run in the second to tie the game at one, on a double steal that resulted in Ryan Kreidler crossing the plate on an attempted caught stealing of Jordan Rathbone at second base. 

Nick Hoefling threw threw the final three innings for a save, allowing three hits with three strikeouts. 

After an off day, Monday, Wenatchee hits the road for a six-game road trip, and the beginning of 18-consecutive games until July 7. First pitch at Bend, Tuesday, is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
