Mitch Haythorn wins Pitcher of the Week in the postseason!

He dominated in the regular season, and he’s dominating in the postseason. Mitch Haythorn got the start for the ‘Sox in game one of the playoffs, and he did not disappoint. His scoreless outing on the mound won him pitcher of the week for the WCL and gave Wenatchee the spark to sweep the Falcons in the series.

After securing 100 career strikeouts to close out his regular season with Wenatchee, Haythorn kept the momentum going into August. He pitched six innings against Kelowna, allowing only four hits, no walks, no runs, and striking out six batters.

The win gives Haythorn a 4-1 record overall on the year and drops his ERA to 4.32. He has had phenomenal outings all year, but none has quite compared to this flawless performance in the playoffs.

The next day, the ‘Sox journeyed back home and beat Kelowna again. The 8-3 win punched their ticket to the North Division Championship, which they will play against the Bellingham Bells tomorrow.

First pitch for the North Division Championship game will be at 6:35 p.m at Paul Thomas Senior Stadium in Wenatchee.
